Cat Care Attendants

We are hiring Cat Care Attendants to help care for the kitties in our shelter while they get ready for adoption!

This is an essential position to our organization!

The Cat Care Attendant position entails the following: cleaning (kennels, carriers, food/water dishes, etc.), laundry, scooping litter boxes, feeding/watering and medicating our kitties.

This is a part time position.

Shelter Veterinarian

Job Title:  Shelter Veterinarian

Reporting to: Executive Director and Medical Director

Location:  Dayton, Minnesota

Hours per week: open to part or full time

Salary:  Starting at $60 per hour/$125,000 full time


Do you love Veterinarian medicine and caring for pets but need a break from dealing with the public?

Angel of Hope Animal Rescue is looking for a veterinarian to join our team! Our inhouse Vet Suite is established to handle spay and neuters, dentals, and some specialty surgeries for Angel of Hope foster pets.  We also offer services to other nonprofit Rescues/Shelters.  We do not work directly with the public.

Responsibilities for Veterinarian:

  • Perform exams and create care plan as needed.

  • Perform needed surgeries such as spays, neuters, amputations, enucleations, etc. as needed.

  • Assist with setting and managing protocols for vaccines, surgery, URI and other issues for animals in care.

  • Consistently look for opportunities to build and enhance our program of care.

  • Assist with coordination for outside Vet for specialty surgeries and other services such as X-rays. Included are specialists that come onsite to perform specialty surgeries at our site.

  • Act as a resource and provide support for staff on best practices for care of foster pets.

  • Limited if any contact with public. 


Requirements for Full-Time Veterinarian:

  • Active Minnesota DVM license and ability to hold DEA license.

  • Prior High Volume/High Quality spay and neuter experience a plus or the ability to:

  • Able to complete 20-30 surgeries per day depending on spay/neuter counts and size of pets. (Able to complete a minimum of 15 a day and increase volume with training.)

    • Pet Dentistry experience.

    • Specialty surgeries as needed.

  • Shelter medicine knowledge a plus!

  • Knowledge of common canine and feline health concerns.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Must be able to multitask in fast paced environment and have strong organizational skills.

  • Must be able to be reached by phone or email for emergencies or urgent cases when needed.

Angel of Hope Animal Rescue is a non-profit that finds homes for over 1500 pets annually with less than 1% euthanasia. Many of our pets join us from overcrowded southern shelters where they still deal with high levels of euthanasia. All pets are spayed/neutered, up to date and healthy prior to adoption. We do enjoy working with many special need’s pets too! We are excited to have you join our Vet Team and help give these pets have second chances!
